Why are you running?
Utter disgust with Democratic leadership. They have not met the moment, and we are in need of more aggressive and progressive leaders. We need to not just punch back against MAGA, but punch first.
What do you think is the most pressing issue facing your constituents and how do you plan on addressing it?
Affordability. This ranges from groceries to houses to medical care. We need to toughen up antitrust laws to allow more competition in food production, ban hedge funds from buying up residential real estate, and allow medicare to negotiate drug prices.
What is one unique challenge your district faces and how do you plan to address it?
AI Datacenters. It unites those from the rural northwest to the afluent southeast. We have a a lot of water and a lot of land that is under pressure to be sold for pennies to build these things
What do you think federal immigration reform should look like?
1. Abolish ICE. 2. 3x the number of immigration judges. 3. Everyone here has a path to citizenship taking no longer than 5 years.
How should Congress address the rising costs of health care?
We need single payer health care. The elimination of for profit health care. The banning of for profit hospitals, and the ability of Medicare to negotiate all drug prices.
What approach would you take on tax policy and what is your top priority?
Tax the rich. We increase capital gains rates, and additionally we tax wealth. 2% per year wealth tax on all holdings above 10 million dollars.
Is the House currently using its oversight powers in the way it should be? What areas of government need more or less oversight?
No. Oversight isn't just a committee or a CSPAN snippet. It means being the micromanager from hell for the executive branch.
What is the most pressing foreign policy issue facing the country and what role should the House play in dealing with it?
NATO failing. We need to sure up our alliances across the Atlantic. There are many folks who are not fans of NATO, however it has been the mainstay of our security for a very long time. We need to make sure our allies understand that the adults are back in charge in the USA
How do you view AI and the role the government should play in its regulation?
Based on the rhetoric, AI will change the world in vital ways. This needs to be regulated hard.
How would you describe the current state of your party and what changes or new approaches would you like to see your party adopt?
It is terrible. The reason Democrats have a 26% approval rating is that we aren't punching hard enough. No more bipartisanship, no more bending over backwards. We need to push a positive vision forward of the future.
